The disposal of used dry-cell batteries has long been a significant factor in environmental pollution. Common household dry-cell batteries contain elements such as iron, zinc, manganese, and mercury, and even a single small 5-volt battery can contaminate 1 square meter of soil, leading to reduced crop yield.

The 14500 lithium battery, commonly known as an AA lithium battery or a size 5 lithium battery, is one of the most common battery types in our daily lives. 

To address the need for environmental protection, rechargeable batteries were introduced. However, traditional AA/AAA rechargeable batteries primarily relied on nickel-metal hydride technology, which, despite being cost-effective, suffered from issues such as low capacity, insufficient voltage, slow charging and discharging speeds, and limited cycle life.

To tackle these market challenges, KOOM embarked on innovation in the field of everyday batteries and successfully developed a 1.5V TypeC rechargeable cylindrical lithium battery. This battery offers a lighter weight, increased number of recharge cycles, and enhanced stability. Compared to traditional alkaline batteries, it causes less environmental pollution and offers flexible applications across various scenarios.

The 14500 battery and the 5th battery appear very similar in appearance, but they have slightly different dimensions. The 14500 battery is typically a lithium-ion battery with dimensions of approximately 14mm (diameter) × 50mm (length). On the other hand, the 5th battery, usually referring to an alkaline battery, has dimensions of approximately 14.5mm (diameter) × 50.5mm (length).

Lithium batteries are a rechargeable battery technology in which lithium ions move between the positive and negative electrodes during the charging and discharging process, allowing them to be charged and discharged multiple times. Our lithium batteries mainly utilize lithium-ion or lithium cobalt oxide materials, supporting at least 1500 or more recharge cycles.

Overcharging refers to charging a battery beyond its rated voltage, which can result in battery heating, slower charging speeds, or even damage to the battery. Our batteries incorporate a patented Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the battery’s voltage and temperature, controlling the charger or device when necessary to prevent overcharging.
